SOHO (SOlar and Heliospheric Observatory) is in a halo orbit at the Lagrangian point L1 (about 1.5 million kilometers from the earth, on the sun-earth line), and performs remote sensing of the sun. SOHO was built in Europe with instruments from European and American scientists.

UNH personnel involved with the Charge, Element, and Isotope Analysis System (CELIAS) project include Dr. Toni Galvin, Dr. Marty Lee, Dr. Eberhard Möbius, and Research Scienitist Yuri Litvinenko.
